Asian wedding ceremonies are filled with symbols and traditions that signify blessings of happiness, success, luck and goodwill. The Oriental character for double happiness (simplified:; traditional:; pinyin: shuangxi) is an excellent symbol which is used in many Hard anodized cookware wedding ceremonies and decorations along with invitations and red packets.

The dragon and phoenix are two other important Chinese icons employed in weddings. The dragon signifies wealth and strength just for the soon-to-be husband while the phoenix symbolizes wonder and grace for the star of the wedding. The two mythical pets are often padded on the couple’s clothing or perhaps incorporated while headpieces in the bride’s hair.

During the wedding service, the groom and bride traditionally provide tea to their parents, in-laws and close family and friends. This is a time pertaining to the groom and bride to show their particular gratitude for all the love and support they have obtained from their parents and ancestors in their life-time. The tea is dished up with a mix of lucky fruits such as jujube, peanuts, longan and lotus seed products. These fruits have different meanings such as jujube denotes prosperity, longan designed for fertility, and peanuts with respect to abundance.

As the bride makes her method into the groom’s house, she is typically along with a dancing lion or Chinese unicorn (qilin chi lin) as a great omen and to protect her from wicked spirits. This girl also knocks on the container of grain before coming into the groom’s home which usually represents wealth and best of luck in their new marriage.
